Somaya Abdelrahman (born in 1996, in Cairo, Egypt) is an Egyptian photojournalist and visual artist. After completing her high school education in Egypt, she enrolled at Hochschule Hannover in Germany to study Journalism and, in 2021, completed an exchange program specializing in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.

Somaya began her journey in photography as a way to tell social stories and shed light on human rights issues. In 2019, she was awarded the Magnum Foundation grant in collaboration with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) to support her personal project "A Permanent Wound", which explored her own experience with female genital mutilation. In 2021, she received TYTW’s Emerging Photographers Fellowship Award, and her stories appeared on platforms like Al Jazeera, Anadolu Agency, Getty Images, BR24, Middle East Eye, though her name was omitted in some cases for safety reasons. Somaya's work has been showcased in multiple international exhibitions, and she dedicates her lens to documenting social and humanitarian issues.

Somaya is currently based in Germany and is available for assignments focusing on social and human rights issues.
